Georgina Fricker

Ophthalmology

Georgie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and after deciding to follow a general practice pathway, continued to pursue an interest in veterinary ophthalmology. This led her to join Optivet Referrals in 2009 where the busy caseload accelerated her clinical learning and she gained the RCVS certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2011. Georgie then moved to Davies Veterinary Specialists to embark on an ECVO residency programme under the mentorship of David Gould and Kerry Smith.  Gaining her diploma in 2016 she remained at the practice until her growing family brought her back to her roots in East Anglia. Georgie is currently Chair of the Education and Residency Committee of ECVO and enjoys teaching/ mentoring alongside her clinical work.

"I’m excited to be joining the advisory board to contribute to the work of this fantastic charity. Being based near Cambridge, where one of the largest StreetVet teams is in place, I hope to be able to make a real difference for the teams out on the street but also for the pets and owners they are helping."
