Clare Rusbridge MBE is Professor of Veterinary Neurology at University of Surrey and Senior Neurologist at Wear Referrals. An internationally recognised specialist she has dedicated more than 25 years to advancing the understanding of Chiari-like malformation and syringomyelia. Her clinical and research interests also include movement disorders, epilepsy, feline orofacial pain syndrome, feline hyperaesthesia syndrome, and other complex pain-associated neurological disorders that impact animal welfare and quality of life.

Clare graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1991, became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology in 1996, an RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Neurology in 1997, and was awarded a PhD from Utrecht University in 2007. She has authored more than 160 scientific papers and book chapters, is co-editor of a leading textbook on syringomyelia, and is recognised for contributions to translational research benefiting both veterinary and human medicine.

Clare is Patron of Cavalier Matters and Cure4DM, Trustee of the Dog Breeding Reform Group, and a committed educator through international lectures, continuing professional development, and open-access resources including YouTube (@clare-neurovet), neurovet.co.uk, and caninechiari.com. Her honours include an MBE, the J.A. Wight Memorial Award, RCVS Fellowship, RCVS Impact Award, Petplan Charitable Trust Scientific Award, and APGAW Unsung Hero Award.
