Insurance
If you work in practice, most volunteers are able to use their practice professional indemnity insurance to cover StreetVet volunteering. You will need to ask your practice for permission. StreetVet have a statement from VDS providing reassurance to practices regarding allowing employees to use their VDS insurance. Please let us know if you need this. If they are not able to extend your cover or you do not work in practice then StreetVet can add you to their cover. As a vet you will need to let the team know each time you sign up to an outreach so you can be added.
What is the expected time commitment?
StreetVet are looking to find volunteers that are able to sign up on a longer term basis. This enables you to get to know our patients and build up trust with their owners. We ask that all our volunteers attend an outreach at least once every 3 months. Ideally, volunteers would be able to attend one outreach per month.
